Prior to Craig establishing Sheridan Consulting Group Pty Ltd he held a senior management role as Commander of the State Planning Unit, Major Events and Incidents Group, NSW Police Force, focused on strategic leadership, public order management, emergency management, strategic planning, continuous improvement, risk management and business/ operations planning. Craig was responsible for the development, maintenance and lecturing of the Incident Commanders Course at the NSW Police Force Leadership College. 

Craig has several international appointments advising in the Middle East region including Security Risk Advisor Misk City Saudi Arabia, Master Planner Abha Saudi Arabia National Day Military Parade and Celebrations, Operations Senior Security Advisor to G20 Secretariat Saudi Arabia and working with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority Saudi Arabia on the Master Plan Event Strategy.

Craig’s diverse background, expert knowledge and respected reputation has resulted in many invitations as a key note speaker both in Australia and abroad. He transitioned to the security industry in 2017 working with a major sporting code to lead protective security risk frameworks and capability, emergency planning and management functions, state and federal law enforcement liaison, incident response and communications processes.

He has significant experience applying security risk management to stadia, educational institutions, security companies, distribution centres, construction projects, sporting organisations and major events.

Chris presents with the ability to provide strategic vision, exceed operational objectives, lead by example and make sound decisions under pressure. Chris’s service in the Australian Defence Force has led him on multiple deployments across Malaysia and Australian border protection. Chris has a vast range of real-world experience and qualifications ranging from certificates in security operations to public safety and first aid, care of the tactical casualty and CPR.

Taking this knowledge and his experience in the security industry, it has led him to operate in, and lead teams through multiple high stake venue security details including Sydney’s most luxury hotel, VIP functions, Events and celebrity VIP close protection, where client satisfaction and safety is the key. Chris’s time spent working in security and close protection has taken him on entertainment tours world wide ranging from Philippines and South East Asia to Mexico and South America. Client and crowd safety, Risk Assessment, Transport and client image was the top priority when facing work in these countries.

Gavin Lennon
Consultant

HVM expert Sheridan Consulting Group P/L

In 2007 Gavin completed honors degree in Advanced Medical & Radiation Physics from the University of Wollongong. As a part of this degree Gavin completed a major research project in conjunction with the CSIRO developing security procedures for cargo scanning in Australian airports and shipping terminals.

In November of 2007 Gavin was employed by the NSW Police Force as a Collision Reconstruction expert tasked primarily with providing expert, highly technical evidence for the investigation and prosecution of serious motor vehicle collisions. Gavin was the founding member of the Collision Reconstruction team within the NSW Police Force having written the Standard Operating Procedures by which they are now governed by.

Gavin’s expertise also extended into the investigation of aeronautical and nautical collisions, shootings and falls, providing expert evidence for hundreds of matters in all levels of court within NSW.

In 2018 Gavin became the leading technical review officer for all vehicle barrier testing and subsequent scientific report writing conducted by the Australia-New Zealand Counter Terrorism Committee, reviewing all testing conducted and validating the technical data contained within the resulting reports that are protected by Crown Copyright 2018. 

As a Collision Reconstructionist, Gavin has developed extensive skills in 3D imaging techniques and has adopted these techniques to provide state of the art pre and post event security planning. These skills were put to work as the chief Hostile Vehicle Mitigation assessor for the 2018 Invictus Games held at Sydney Olympic Park and a number of other major projects across NSW.

Alan Clarke

As Commander MEIG Alan was responsible for all high-risk public order response, major event planning and emergency operations.  As such, he oversaw operations such as Sydney New Years Eve Celebrations, Sydney Mardi Gras, Anzac Day Events Statewide and Australia Day Celebrations.  He was also the NSW Police Commander for the 2015 Asia Football Cup, 2015 Cricket World Cup as well as security operations such as G20 2014, and numerous dignitary visits.

In addition Alan has led many significant corporate projects such as the introduction of ‘Taser’ as a police tactical option and implementation of Body Worn Video for front line officers.  He was also a member of the NSW Police Corporate Systems Management Committee, (overseeing a complete upgrade of the state firearms licensing system) the Commissioners Executive Team and Chair of the Command Level Training Board.

In 2010 Alan was appointed to the position of Deputy State Emergency Operations Controller and assumed responsibility for NSW Police Emergency Management Unit.  As a result he performed the role of State Emergency Operations Controller during emergencies such as the 2013 Blue Mountains Bush Fires, numerous flood events and the Lindt Café Terrorism Incident.  He coordinated interstate and overseas deployments in response to Victorian bushfires, Queensland floods and the Christchurch earthquake.  Alan also held positions on the State Emergency Management Committee and the State Rescue Board.

In 2014 Alan was tasked by the Commissioner to introduce a framework for police safety and security following the heightened terrorism threat.  He subsequently devised statewide security guidelines, which were adopted under the title of ‘Alert’. He also established and chaired the Alert Safety Management Committee, which assessed threats and co-ordinated security reviews and upgrades to premises, including Police Headquarters and the Sydney Police Centre.

Prior to his retirement Alan prepared a proposal for a full upgrade to the NSW Police Operations Centre incorporating the latest in security technology.  Most particularly vision analytics, weak artificial intelligence and knowledge boards incorporating the latest in geo-special data.

Alan is recognised as an expert in his field.   He was a visiting teaching fellow of the NSW Police Command College, has presented at conferences on an international basis and undertaken study tours in the United Kingdom, USA, Switzerland, Germany and Canada.

He has developed an international network of colleagues in police, security, intelligence and emergency management fields. He holds an Executive Master of Public Administration (Sydney University) and is in receipt of numerous medals and awards including the prestigious Australian Police Medal, Commissioner’s Commendation for Bravery and Commissioner’s Certificate of Merit for event Security.

Graeme Stokes

In the past four years of his career, Stephen performed the community engagement role which was challenging and constantly evolving by interacting and supporting numerous new and emerging communities throughout Melbourne. Stephen developed strong and robust partnerships with government and non-government organisations ensuring an all agencies approach in dealing with local issues that impact on crime, terrorism related matters and public safety.

Stephen possesses extensive experience and skills in event management, risk management, emergency management and contingency planning. Throughout his police career, Stephen performed management and leadership roles at many events including:

With a degree in Production, specialising in stage management, Indi has cultivated a passion for creative endeavours in events, through her experience in operations and production. She relishes the tasks of strategic planning and scheduling, bringing departments together to produce seamless and safe events. 

Working regularly on complex events has refined Indi’s skills managing large data sets that inform planning and delivery. She works to find efficiencies in these processes to assist the delivery of site and venue operations and provide valuable information to other functional areas.

Greg Butler

Greg held management roles in the Major Events and Incidents Group, completing, managing or oversighting projects addressing leadership, public order management, emergency management, strategic planning, continuous improvement, policy writing and review along with training and risk management.

Greg has considerable experience in the planning, development, implementation, management and monitoring of emergency responses regarding workplace and community safety strategies, including as the NSW Police Force, State Coordinator for OH&S and his work with the NSW Police Association.

Greg was a member of NSW Government Task forces including the NSW Government Pandemic Task Force, which gathered experts from each key combat agency and was managed by the Premiers and Cabinet Department. This Task Force prepared detailed plans regarding the management of the community during a health Pandemic.

Since retiring in 2012 Greg has operated as an independent Consultant in the areas of Emergency Management, Work Health and Safety plus as an authorised consultant for Beaware Solutions Pty Ltd. Greg has completed work for all types of clients including State and Local Governments, non-government organisations, child care and aged care organisations plus all varieties of business groups.

Greg recently commenced with the industry leading, Sheridan Consulting Group. The work with Sheridan Consulting Group renews the team of Craig Sheridan and Greg working together, which was extremely successful during their time at NSW Police.
