Craig Sheridan APM is the Founder and Managing Director of Sheridan Consulting Group Pty Ltd and is recognised as a leading specialist in Security Risk Management, Protective Security, Emergency Management, Counter Terrorism and Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM). Craig has consulted to major government and private sector organisations both nationally and internationally, delivering strategic security advisory services across major infrastructure projects, critical assets, stadia and large-scale public events.

Craig has completed major Risk Assessments and Protective Security Strategies for new city developments and has acted as Lead Security Risk Advisor for internationally recognised events including the FINA World Short Course Championships, FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, UCI World Road Championships and the UK Premier League Australian Tour. He has also conducted Strategic Risk Reviews for organisations including Roads and Maritime Services NSW, Transport for NSW, Venues NSW, Stadiums Queensland, NSW Health, Legal Aid NSW, Arts NSW and Destination NSW, including major events such as Vivid Sydney, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Sydney New Year’s Eve. Craig has partnered with Deloitte in the areas of risk management, resilience and recovery, and has facilitated Counter Terrorism and Workplace Emergency Response Training programs for numerous organisations.

Craig has held senior advisory positions with Barangaroo Delivery Authority, Supercars Australia and the Australian Football League (AFL). He continues to consult to major stadiums and entertainment precincts including Venues NSW, Stadiums Queensland, Marvel Stadium Melbourne, Auckland Stadiums and the Sydney Cricket Ground, delivering both permanent and temporary HVM strategies and integrated protective security solutions. Craig also provides high-level VIP Protective Security services for international conferences, major corporate events and visiting dignitaries throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

Internationally, Craig has held several senior advisory appointments throughout the Middle East, including Security Risk Advisor to Misk City Saudi Arabia, Master Planning Advisor for the Abha Saudi Arabia National Day Military Parade and Celebrations, Operations Senior Security Advisor to the G20 Secretariat Saudi Arabia and strategic advisor to the Diriyah Gate Development Authority Saudi Arabia on Master Plan Event Strategies. Prior to establishing Sheridan Consulting Group, Craig held the senior management position of Commander, State Planning Unit within the Major Events and Incidents Group of the NSW Police Force. In this role he was responsible for strategic leadership, public order management, emergency management, operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives, including oversight of the NSW Police Operations Centre and Government Coordination Centre. Craig also developed and lectured the Incident Commanders Course at the NSW Police Force Leadership College.

Craig was awarded the Australian Police Medal (APM) in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours for distinguished service as a member of an Australian Police Force. He holds an Executive Master of Public Administration together with advanced qualifications in Police Management, Security Risk Management, Event Management, Vocational Education and Training, and Frontline Management. Craig maintains strong professional relationships across government, intelligence and law enforcement sectors including ASIO, AFP and jurisdictional police agencies, and currently holds Secret and Top Secret National Security Clearances. Craig has held notable appointments including Director of the Asia Pacific Special Olympics Board, Member of the Counter Terrorism & Special Tactics Command “Strike Force Eagle” Incident Management Team, Member of the NSW Government Events Operations Group Executive and Member of the NSW Police Force Strategic Intelligence Board. Roman Quaedvlieg
Strategic Advisor

Roman has a diverse and long career in the national security domain. He started his professional life as a State-based police officer, serving in uniform in the Queensland Police before attaining his Detective designation and investigating major crime. He concurrently served as a tactical response operative responding to armed sieges. Roman then undertook a lengthy tenure in covert police operations targeting organised crime as an undercover agent, a surveillance operative, and an informant handler in both the State and Federal law enforcement.

 

Roman later joined the Australian Federal Police, leading several portfolios such as anti-money laundering and counter transnational crime. He rose to the rank of Chief of Police in the ACT before being transferred as Deputy CEO of the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service where he led the operational components of Operation Sovereign Borders. Roman became the CEO of the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service and then co-led the merger of Australian Customs and the Immigration Department, from which he was appointed as the inaugural Australian Border Force Commissioner. In that role he was responsible for the protection of Australia’s borders and tackling transnational crime syndicates. Roman has also chaired the Operational Response and CBRNe sub-committees of the Australian and New Zealand Counter-Terrorism Committee.

As Commander MEIG Alan was responsible for all high-risk public order response, major event planning and emergency operations.  As such, he oversaw operations such as Sydney New Years Eve Celebrations, Sydney Mardi Gras, Anzac Day Events Statewide and Australia Day Celebrations.  He was also the NSW Police Commander for the 2015 Asia Football Cup, 2015 Cricket World Cup as well as security operations such as G20 2014, and numerous dignitary visits.

In addition Alan has led many significant corporate projects such as the introduction of ‘Taser’ as a police tactical option and implementation of Body Worn Video for front line officers.  He was also a member of the NSW Police Corporate Systems Management Committee, (overseeing a complete upgrade of the state firearms licensing system) the Commissioners Executive Team and Chair of the Command Level Training Board.

In 2010 Alan was appointed to the position of Deputy State Emergency Operations Controller and assumed responsibility for NSW Police Emergency Management Unit.  As a result he performed the role of State Emergency Operations Controller during emergencies such as the 2013 Blue Mountains Bush Fires, numerous flood events and the Lindt Café Terrorism Incident.  He coordinated interstate and overseas deployments in response to Victorian bushfires, Queensland floods and the Christchurch earthquake.  Alan also held positions on the State Emergency Management Committee and the State Rescue Board.

In 2014 Alan was tasked by the Commissioner to introduce a framework for police safety and security following the heightened terrorism threat.  He subsequently devised statewide security guidelines, which were adopted under the title of ‘Alert’. He also established and chaired the Alert Safety Management Committee, which assessed threats and co-ordinated security reviews and upgrades to premises, including Police Headquarters and the Sydney Police Centre.

Prior to his retirement Alan prepared a proposal for a full upgrade to the NSW Police Operations Centre incorporating the latest in security technology.  Most particularly vision analytics, weak artificial intelligence and knowledge boards incorporating the latest in geo-special data.

Alan is recognised as an expert in his field.   He was a visiting teaching fellow of the NSW Police Command College, has presented at conferences on an international basis and undertaken study tours in the United Kingdom, USA, Switzerland, Germany and Canada.

He has developed an international network of colleagues in police, security, intelligence and emergency management fields. He holds an Executive Master of Public Administration (Sydney University) and is in receipt of numerous medals and awards including the prestigious Australian Police Medal, Commissioner’s Commendation for Bravery and Commissioner’s Certificate of Merit for event Security.

In the past four years of his career, Stephen performed the community engagement role which was challenging and constantly evolving by interacting and supporting numerous new and emerging communities throughout Melbourne. His distinguished career includes senior leadership and coordination roles during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the 2007 APEC Conference, World Youth Day 2008, numerous Sydney New Year’s Eve celebrations, and a broad range of large-scale public events and mass gatherings.

Bob was instrumental in the establishment of the NSW Police Public Order and Riot Squad, where he served for many years as Chief Inspector, contributing significantly to the development of specialist public order policing capability and operational readiness across New South Wales.

Throughout his career, Bob has also played a critical role in the planning and coordination of Internationally Protected Persons (IPP) and VIP dignitary visits to New South Wales and Australia. Working closely with government agencies, emergency services, and event stakeholders, he has consistently ensured the safe, secure, and seamless delivery of complex operations. His expertise spans operational planning, stakeholder engagement, risk management, crowd safety, and major event security operations.
